Using Geofences in Afritrack Monitoring System
Geofences are specific areas on the map used to track units within or outside these areas. They can be utilized in notifications and reports.
Creating a Geofence
- Geofences tab in the monitoring system.
Navigate to the Geofences tab to create a new geofence:
- Click New on the Geofences tab.
- Select the geofence type: Polygon, Line, or Circle
- Map the geofence by marking points on the map.
- Specify the geofence properties such as name, description, and group
- Click Save to save the geofence.
- Importing and Exporting Geofences
- Use the Import from KML/KMZ and Export to KML/KMZ functions to import or export geofences.
- Creating a Geofence from a Track
Navigate to the Tracks tab in the monitoring system:
- Select a Unit and Time Interval.
- Specify the time interval for which you want to view the track.
- Display the Track to create Geofence from Track
- Save the Geofence.
- Creating a Geofence from a Route
Navigate to the Tools section in the monitoring system and select the Routing tool:
- Use the routing tool to plan a route by selecting start and end points, and any waypoints if necessary.
- Adjust the route as needed to match your requirements.
- Once the route is planned, save the route as a geofence.
This option allows you to convert the entire route into a geofence, typically in the shape of a line.
